Children

Represents a child or youth who has interacted with an agency's foster care process or has been entered into a child welfare database.

  • hispanic-or-latino-ethnicity* (["object", "null"]) - Information about a child's hispanic or ethnicity status. Includes 4 top-level keys including: "hispanic-origin-yes", "hispanic-origin-no", "hispanic-origin-unknown", and "hispanic-origin-prefer-not-to-answer". Additionally if a further more specific option was selected it will appear as as child of "hispanic-origin-yes" ie "hispanic-origin-yes.puerto-rican".

  • client-id* (["string", "null"]) - Identifier used in external system that can be used to match a singular child in Binti with a child record in another system. Must be unique for each child at an agency.

  • confidential* (["boolean", "null"]) - A boolean for if the Child's record is confidential. (True: the Child's record is confidential.)

  • sealed* (["boolean", "null"]) - A boolean for if the Child's record is sealed. (True: the Child's record is sealed.)

  • external-group-id* (["string", "null"]) - Identifier used in external system that can be used to match a group of children in Binti with any record in another system. The same external group ID can be used for multiple child records. There is no uniqueness requirement for this field.

  • date-of-birth* (unknown) - Child's date of birth.

  • estimated-date-of-birth* (unknown) - Child's estimated date of birth. Only one of either date_of_birth or estimated_date_of_birth will be populated.

  • gender* (["string", "null"]) - One of the data options, or empty, to describe the Child's gender.

  • grade-level* (["string", "null"]) - Child's grade level (Kindergarten-Twelfth or Postsecondary Education).

  • diagnoses* (["string", "null"]) - Open text input for the Child's medical diagnoses.

  • medication* (["string", "null"]) - Open text input for the Child's current medications.

  • strengths* (["string", "null"]) - Open text input for the Child's strengths.

  • allergies* (["string", "null"]) - Open text input for the Child's allergies.

(true: the Child's family of origin has lost their parental rights.) We have a new field, parental-rights-status, that this field now maps to - true values will map to terminated_finalized, and false values will map to not_terminated.

  • parental-rights-status* (string) - One of the data options, to describe if the Child's family of origin has lost their parental rights. Defaults to not_terminated.

  • in-school* (["boolean", "null"]) - A boolean for if the Child is currently enrolled in school. (true: the Child is enrolled in school.)

  • school-id* (["number", "null"]) - Binti's unique ID for the Child's school. Search for a school's ID using /api/v1/schools

  • sibling-ids* (["array", "null"]) - An array of Binti Child IDs for any sibling the Child has who are also in foster care.

  • protected-tribe* (["boolean", "null"]) - A boolean for if the Child is a member of a protected Native American tribe. (true: the Child is in a protected tribe.)

  • protected-tribe-names* (["array", "null"]) - An array of the protected tribe(s) of which the Child is a member.

  • created-at* (unknown) - Date and time that the Child was created in Binti.

  • updated-at* (unknown) - Date and time that the Child was last updated.

  • updated-by* (["number", "null"]) - Binti ID of the person who last updated the Child's record.

  • sex-assigned-at-birth* (["string", "null"]) - The sex the Child was assigned at birth.
